چکیده
Compounds Used-N”l-Acetyl-n-ornithine was synthesized as previously described (5, 3).’ L-Ornithine monohydrochloride was obtained from the Mann Research Laboratories. Several of the acetylamino acids used, including acetyl-nn-methionine, were supplied by the California Foundation for Biochemical Research.2 Organisms-The organisms used are E. coli (ATCC 9637) and ornithinerequiring mutant 160-37 of E. coli (5, 1). Cultivation-The growth medium used is prepared at 50 X strength as follows. In distilled water (670 ml.) are dissolved, successively, MgSOr .7H20 (10.0 gm.), citric acid-H20 (100.0 gm.), K2HF04.anhydrous (500.0 gm.), and NaNH,HP04.4H20 (175.0 gm.), the final volume being about 1.00 liter.3 On 50-fold dilution with distilled water, the resulting single strength medium, designated E, has a pH of about 7.0; it is sterilized by autoclaving. Medium E is supplemented with dextrose (autoclaved sepa-

Structural and biochemical characterization of the Escherichia coli argE gene product.
The DNA sequence of a 2,100-bp region containing the argE gene from Escherichia coli has been determined. The nucleotide sequence of the ppc-argE intergenic region was also solved and shown to contain six tandemly repeated REP sequences. Moreover, the oxyR gene has been mapped on the E. coli chromosome and shown to flank the arg operon. The codon responsible for the translation start of argE wa...
متن کاملProduction and Partial Purification of the Grapevine Fanleaf Virus Coat Protein 42 Polyclonal Antibody Against Inclusion Body Expressed in Escherichia coli
Background: Expression of virus coat protein (CP) in Escherichia coli often leads to production of partially folded aggregated proteins which are called inclusion bodies. Grapevine fanleaf virus (GFLV) is one of the most serious and widespread grapevine virus diseases around the world and in Iran. Objective: The main objective of this study was to find a s...
متن کاملProduction, Purification and Characterization of Chicken Egg Yolk Monoclonal Antibody Against Colonization factor antigen -1 of Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli Causing Diarrhea
Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) causes diarrhea in both humans and animals. The contaminated food and water are the most common vehicles for ETEC infection. The colonization factor antigen (CFA-1) is a fimbriae protein that promotes adherence of the ETEC strain to the epithelium of the small intestine of the host. In this study IgY proteins were produced against the CFA-1 of ETEC in imm...
متن کاملCloning and evaluation of gene expression and purification of gene encoding recombinant protein containing binding subunit of coli surface antigens CS1 and CS2 from Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli
Background & Objective: Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) is a major causative agent of diarrhea. Enterotoxins and the colonization factors (CFs) are major virulence factors in ETEC infections. The bacterium binds to the intestinal epithelial cell surface through colonization factors and produces enterotoxins that cause excessive fluid and electrolyte secretion in the lumen of the intesti...
